Barkarica - Part 1
Where to start, telling you about this amazing adventure on the other side of the world? Well, it was everything and more. Dogs, monkeys - yes monkeys, wonderful friends, photographing dogs at one of most beautiful parts of the world, sunshine and did I mention dogs?

After Barkelona, we all came home full of ideas and inspiration, knowing there are people who share our crazy love for dogs. So months went by and opening my emails one evening last year, there it was, an email with the words BARKARICA. I did not had to think twice, well maybe I did :), but there was no way I would miss this adventure. Specially when it meant flying to one of the most breathtaking places on earth - Costa Rica.
Fast forward to February 2017 and jumping in a Jet Plane from London|UK to Bogota|Columbia to San Jose|Costa Rica! Let the pawtastic Adventure begin.
After over 12h flight time and travelling over 5500 miles with my travel buddies Josie from Jelly Bean Photography and her partner Adam, we arrived in a sunny Costa Rica. And even so we were totally jet lagged, the beauty on this country took us in a heart beat and we were ready to see and explore everything. And lucky the coffee here is simply amazing :) We also met up with Craig from Furtography, who came all the way from new Zealand , on an I think 40h journey.
Full of excitement, we started our journey to the Manuel Antonio National Park and somewhere there, between all the palm trees, would be our home for the next week. Our excitement grew as we stopped on the "Crocodile Bridge" and well, down there in the river were some of the biggest crocs I had ever seen. What stunning & beautiful animals. Jumping a little forward we were lucky enough to visit the Tulemar Sloth Institute , organised by our fellow Barkarician Julie . The Tulemar is a non profit organisation in Quepos, enhancing and conserving wild and captive sloths through research and rehabilitation. And you might can imagine our faces as we saw the first sloth sitting high up in the trees, looking down to us, climbing and also showing off their adorable little Sloth babies.
And of course, Barkarica is not just about photographing dogs, it is also meeting old and new friends again. Sharing ideas, networking, growing through each other, finding inspiration and laughing. So here we were, seeing all our dog crazy friends from all parts of the world again. We are the Barka's :) Myself :), Craig & Josie
Arriving at the Casa Las Brisas, it took our breath away. The house ... the view ... But see for your self :) And before you ask, we did had three different kinds of monkeys visiting the house almost every day. Starting with Howler Monkeys and their 3am Wake Up call, to charming Capuchin Monkeys and to the cheeky little Squirrel Monkeys, who had a couple of very good monkey parties on the roof terrace. It was a monkey's life here. So with all this excitement going on, here is a sneaky peak for the second part of BARKARICA :) Photo Credit @ Charlotte Reeves
