Just a couple of photos taken along the frozen Grand Union Canal in Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire. Still no snow in sight, but at least it looked a little bit more like winter this morning thanks to the heavy frost.

Work at the Leighton Lock at the Grand Union Canal 

Over the next couple of weeks work will be done at the Leighton Lock in Leighton Buzzard's part of the Grand Union Canal. The lock will be drained to repair and refit the lock gates. The work is done by the Canal and River Trust UK, which maintains over 2000 miles of the canal each year to ensure it safety for over 30000 canal boats. This stretch of the Grand Union Canal is one of the most popular ones for people travelling between London and the Midlands.
